The ready mixed concrete industry can provide a unique backfill material, which is far superior to soil. The name of this modern day product is FLOWABLE FILL (controlled density fill). It is a mixture of Portland cement, fly ash, fine aggregates and water delivered in a semi-liquid state by ready mix trucks. This hydraulic will readily flow into places with no tamping or vibrations. Another plus is that it can be easily removed later if necessary.
