The City of High Point is actively seeking proposals from a qualified and an experienced Contractors to partner with a Hazardous Waste Processor to provide safe, knowledgeable, efficient, and accountable Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection and disposal of waste. The City reserves the right to accept or reject, in whole or in part, such proposals as appears in its judgment to be in the best interest of the City. SCOPE OF WORK The City of High Point is seeking to partner with a Hazardous Waste Processor to provide safe, knowledgeable, efficient, and accountable Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection and disposal of waste. The City of High Point's Environmental Services Division is seeking qualified Contractors specializing in Household Hazardous Waste collection, processing, reporting, recycling, and disposal. The Contractor selected must have substantial experience in and knowledge of the HHW industry. The Contractor selected will have a main, regional, or satellite office that is in close proximity with the City's HHW facility for ease of access and swift response time in case of urgent or emergency situations. The Contractor selected will have a company liaison that communicates directly with the Environmental Services Division Superintendent. The selected Contractor will provide turnkey service for Household Hazardous Waste processing at the HHW facility located at 1401 E Martin Luther King Jr. Drive High Point, NC 27260. The services will include labor, equipment, processing, sorting, reporting assistance, recycling, transporting, and the disposal of waste for the City's HHW collection program. The Contractor will provide staff members who are certified in Hazardous waste collection and disposal. City of High Point staff will provide backup assistance for the collection of Hazardous waste. The facility will be operated three (3) Saturdays a year from 8:00 am to 1:00 PM. Dates will be set for the year by December 1st of the preceding year. The Contractor will report at each shift/day's end to the Environmental Services Superintendent or their designee the total pounds and the material collected from residents on a reporting document agreed upon by both parties.
