Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Yreka, California. Working plans call for site work for a educational facility; and for the construction of a educational facility.
As of February 15, 2024, bids were canceled. No definite date for the rebid. Sealed bids for the award and contract for the furnishing of all labor, materials, transportation and services required for the construction of the Yreka High School Culinary Arts Center SCOPE :A. Furnish all equipment and materials specified below by manufacturer, model number, options, accessories, and parts. B. Furnish all equipment and materials specified to be custom fabricated from a recognized and approved foodservice equipment fabricator. C. Verify and coordinate all items noted on plans as existing or as owner or vendor-furnished. D. Provide labor and materials required to deliver, uncrate, assemble, set in place, hang, level, install, supervise and coordinate the installation of all foodservice equipment and accessories as indicated on drawings and as specified, exclusive of utility connections. E. General Contractor to include the following work as applicable: 1. All electric, gas, steam, water and waste services to rough-in points at equipment locations. 2. Exhaust ductwork beyond the exhaust hood collar, connection to the exhaust hood, controls, interlocking devices, switches, etc., necessary for complete installation and system operation, unless otherwise noted in specification. 3. Installation of faucets, pot fillers, pre-rinse assemblies, hose reels, quick disconnect assemblies, vacuum breakers, check valves, flow control valves, drain assemblies, indirect waste piping, unless otherwise noted in specification. 4. Electric disconnect switches as required by local code. 5. Conduit and conductors between controls and equipment and from the rough-in location to equipment. 6. Concrete curbs, floor depressions, tile overlays, cement finishes, raised bases, sleeves, penetrations, fire rated duct enclosure, wall openings, and ceiling openings. 7. Disconnect and removal of existing equipment, unless otherwise specified. 8. Storage of existing equipment to be reused, unless otherwise specified. 9. Installation of existing equipment to be reused, unless other specified. F. Drawings and general provisions of the contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. G. Project management including on site meetings and verification of rough-ins for final approved equipment items with general contractor and trades. The undersigned hereby proposes and agrees to furnish any and all required labor, materials, equipment, transportation and services for the Yreka High School Culinary Arts in strict conformity with the plans, specifications and other documents on file at the office of the Architect, Nichols, Melburg & Rossetto, 300 Knollcrest Drive, Redding, CA 96002. Each Bid must conform and be responsive to this invitation and the Contract Documents. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashiers check or bid bond made in favor of the Board of Trustees, Yreka Union High School District, executed by the bidder as principal and an admitted surety company as surety. All bonds for this project must be issued by an Admitted Surety, an insurance organization authorized by the Insurance Commissioner to transact business of Insurance in the State of California during this business year, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the bid. The check or bid bond shall be given as guarantee that the bidder shall execute the contract if it be awarded to them in conformity with the Contract Documents and shall provide the surety bond as specified therein within five (5) days after notification of the award of the contract to bidder. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom a contract is awarded, and upon all subcontractors under them, to pay not less than the general prevailing rates of per diem wages to all workers in the execution of the contract. Pursuant to the provisions of the California State Labor Code, and Local Laws thereto applicable, the said Board of Trustees has ascertained the prevailing rate of wages in the locality where this work is to be performed, for each craft and/or type of worker or mechanic needed to perform the work of this contract. General Prevailing Wage Rates shall be those rates pertaining to Siskiyou County as published by the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) pursuant to California Labor Code, Part 7, Chapter 1, Article 2, Sections 1770, 1773, and 1773.1. Copies of the Prevailing Wage Schedules may be obtained from the Division of Labor Statistics and Research, P.O. Box 420603, San Francisco, CA 94101 Each contractor and subcontractor must be registered with DIR prior to submitting a bid. The District has set an overall goal for this Project that Bidders obtain a minimum 3% of their bid amount in participation by certified Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE). The participation may be through work or supply of materials. It is understood and agreed that in case all of said work is not complete within the Agreement time, damages will be sustained by the Owner, and that it is and will be impractical or extremely difficult to determine the actual damages which the Owner will sustain in the event and by reason of such delay; and it is therefore agreed that the Contractor will pay to the Owner the sum of five hundred dollars ($500) per day for each and every day's delay beyond the Agreement time specified as liquidated damages and in case the same are not paid, agrees that the Owner may deduct the amount therefrom any money due or that may become due the Contractor under this contract. The parties further agree that the following amount herein set forth shall be presumed to be the amount of damages which the Owner shall directly incur upon failure of contractor to achieve final completion within four (4) weeks after the date specified for substantial completion: Two hundred Dollars ($200.00), plus the extra inspection costs incurred by the Owner for each calendar day beginning four (4) weeks after contractor achieves substantial completion and continuing until contractor has achieved final completion The Contractor shall submit in writing to the Architect all requests for time extension beyond the Agreement time, within five (5) days from the date such delay becomes known. Should a bidder find discrepancies and/or omissions or should he be in doubt as to their meaning, he shall at once notify DAVE ARNOLD, Nichols, Melburg & Rossetto, 300 Knollcrest Drive, Redding, CA 96002, (530) 222-3300, and should it be found necessary, a written addendum will be sent to all bidders. The Architect will not be responsible for any oral interpretations or instructions. If a Bidder is unable to obtain the full 3% participation by one or more DVBEs, then the bid may be found responsive only if it establishes good faith efforts to meet the goal. The requirements for good faith efforts are set forth in Section 00 48 00 DVBE Requirements in the project specifications. The bidder awarded this contract may elect to receive 100% of payments due under the contract from time to time without retention of any portion of the payment by the public agency, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the public agency in accordance with the provisions of the Public Contract Code. The Yreka Union High School District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any defect or irregularity in bidding. It is agreed by the parties of this Contract that the completion of all work of this contract shall be within two hundred (200) workdays from the date of the Notice to Proceed. The Contract Documents include the Agreement that the successful bidder, as Contractor, will be required to execute. The requirements and forms of bonds that he will be required to furnish are included herein and shall become part of the Contract Documents. Bids may be withdrawn by bidders prior to, but not later than, the time of bid opening.
