The City of Yuma seeks to obtain proposals from qualified firms to provide professional services to update and create a Joint Land Use Plan. The City of Yuma and the surrounding communities have a strong desire to protect all economic assets within the community, in this instance MCAS Yuma. The firm will be required to collect and analyze date to develop a clear set of goals, policies and standards needed to ensure compatible growth between MCAS Yuma and the surrounding communities. The current Joint Land Use Plan, adopted in 1996, no longer meets the growing needs of MCAS Yuma or the surrounding communities. Implementing an innovative and inclusive public outreach and engagement strategy will be crucial for the development of a successful Joint Land Use Plan. The consulting team must be familiar with innovative public participation techniques in order to maximize public input within the decision-making process. This process should identify the community's priorities and visions and translate those into a Joint Land Use Plan that is a clear roadmap for managing compatible growth and development for years to come.
