As of June 6, 2025, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Cleveland Public Library ("Library") is seeking qualifications statements in accordance with Ohio Revised Code Sections 153.65 through 153.73 from professional design firms to provide criteria architecture and engineering services for a project at the Library's Main Library Building and Louis Stokes Wing ("LSW"). The project involves the upgrading and replacement of the fire alarm system at the Main Library Building and LSW located at 325 and 525 Superior Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio (the "Project"). The Project will involve the creation of bridging documents for the replacement and upgrade of the fire alarm system at the Main Library Building and LSW. The Project assumes that the design will include provisions to maintain the buildings' existing fire system operation during construction and replacement or minimize any downtime where a fire-watch may be required. The bridging documents will allow this Project to be bid via a design-build contractor procurement process. In order to create a background for this and other projects it is the Library's intention to create a 3-Dimensional model of the Main Library campus. The selected A/E firm will have creation of this model as a part of their scope of work. The design firm will be expected to provide the following services: concept and design criteria document preparation, assistance in the selection process of a design-build contractor, preconstruction services and submittal reviews, construction and closeout services cost estimating, permitting and review, and progress payment/change order review. The qualifications required for the Project include: experience with libraries and public entities; experience with design-build projects; knowledge of requirements under state and local fire codes; ability in terms of workload and the availability of qualified personnel, equipment, and facilities; past performance, financial responsibility; and other qualifications as described in the Request for Qualifications ("RFQ").
