Reference Number 0000338797 The intent of these specifications is to furnish information to responsible bidders for the purpose of obtaining bids for North and South Plant Polymer Bulk Storage Tank Liner Replacement as requested by Albany County Water Purification District. Work Location(s): ACWPD South Plant 209 Church Street Albany, NY 12202 ACWPD North Plant 1 Canal Road South Albany, NY 12204 C. The Albany County Water Purification District (ACWPD) is seeking bids to replace failing vulcanized rubber liners with new epoxy liners on steel horizontal bulk storage tanks that are used to store mannich polymer. In general, the scope of work is to include the removal of the existing rubber liner and the installation of a new epoxy liner in each tank. The tanks to be relined are summarized below: 1. South Plant Polymer Tanks a. Tank Quantity: Two (2) horizontal steel tanks b. Tank Size: 3,400 gallon (6-ft diameter by 16-ft long) c. Tank Construction: Butt welded steel construction with a side wall thickness of 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch thick end walls. All welds are continuous and smooth. d. Existing Liner: 3/16-inch autoclaved vulcanized rubber attached via adhesive. 2. North Plant Polymer Tanks a. Tank Quantity: One (1) horizontal steel tanks b. Tank Size: 2,500 gallon (5.5-ft diameter by 15.25-ft long) c. Tank Construction: Butt welded steel construction with a side wall thickness of 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch thick end walls. All welds are continuous and smooth. d. Existing Liner: 3/16-inch autoclaved vulcanized rubber attached via adhesive. D. Contractor shall be responsible for providing all labor, equipment and materials needed to remove/dispose of the existing liner and install the new epoxy liner. Tanks are considered a confined space and Contractor shall be responsible for all safety gear needed to make tank entry and protect adjacent equipment during construction. Bid cost shall include the costs of all labor, materials, equipment, and disposal to facilitate the work specified herein.
