Reference Number 0000262006 1 The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) operates numerous subway stations located throughout Toronto, as shown in Section 00 4100 (Escalator Handrail Details). The TTC is equipped with 318 escalators used to transport patrons between various floor levels within the stations. Please refer to attached escalator handrail template for details. More escalators may be added at a later date. 2 Periodically throughout the year, escalator handrails require replacement. This Contract is for the supply of these escalator handrails in accordance with the Contract Documents. .3The TTC has escalators manufactured by seven (7) companies as follows: Goldstar Hitachi Montgomery-KONE Otis Otis-Paguag Schindler Thyssen/TKE. 4.Escalator handrails must be black in colour 5 The Company must be able to perform on-site field splicing on an as required basis throughout the term of the Contract. .1 The term of the Contract shall be for one (1) year, commencing upon Notification of Award of a Contract. .2 The TTC reserves the right to extend the Contract for four (4) additional one (1) year terms at the same terms and conditions, subject to satisfactory performance and acceptable negotiated pricing.
