Maywood Teen Center Improvement Project The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to select the most-qualified Consultant to Provide Engineering Services for the Preparation of PS&E (Plan, Specifications and Estimates) for the Maywood Teen Center Improvement Project. The Plans will include but not limited to Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, other necessary Building plans, and Geotechnical Studies if needed. The City wishes to obtain engineering services under a Professional Services Agreement. The City will award no more than one contract on a not-to-exceed basis. The scope of project includes but not limited to the renovation, remodeling, and repurposing of a non-operational Building to a Teen Center. The building facades will be renovated, and this renovation will include the installation of new energy-saving doors and window. The existing monument sign will be updated to align with the Teen Center use. The Teen Center uses will provide a venue for activities that focus on constructive community-building/socialization and active learning opportunities in the realms of technology such as IT, 3D printing, etc. and healthy food and nutritional life skills. Outside of the building will be improved for parking, outdoor gathering spaces, and new landscape plantings. The goal of this RFP is to retain a qualified architectural firm to prepare the plans for the complete renovation and upgrade of the building, including, but not limited to, architectural, structural, seismic, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, solar, new roofing system, fire sprinklers, facade, utilities, interior spaces, and all necessary code compliance improvements for the entire building. The scope also includes facade enhancement/improvements, and necessary improvements to the existing parking lot, parking stalls, ingress/egress, and adjacent sidewalk areas consistent with the attached Concept Plans. The following scope of services is provided as general guidance to the proposers. The proposers shall provide their approach and a detailed scope of work and tasks how to accomplish the City's goal in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
