The City of Miami Beach Facilities and Fleet Management Department is soliciting a bid for the design and installation of redundant fire pump system (Project) for the Miami Beach Convention Center. The City of Miami Beach Facilities and Fleet Management Department is soliciting a bid for the design and installation of redundant fire pump system (Project) for the Miami Beach Convention Center. City departments may, but are not required to, utilize the results of this ITQ to acquire the referenced service. Award of ITQ does not grant the successful contractor(s) exclusive rights or any guarantee of work to provide the services. General Conditions: o All work to be executed by a Certified Florida Fire Protection System Contractor. o Pricing to include all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and mobilization. Any change order must be approved by the Project Manager prior to beginning work. o Vendor will be responsible for all permits, as required. o Contractor shall maintain the site free of debris and trash to be picked up daily. o Department reserves the right to request a Schedule of Values for all bids received. o The City may reject any or all quotations, or any portion of the quotation, as it deems in the best interest of the City. Scope: Project Overview: The building facility is currently served by one electric motor driven, horizontal split case fire pump served by the fire water supply to the site. The bidder shall be responsible for any refurbishment and/or relocation of the existing fire pump and associated appurtenances (jockey pump and controllers) as required to accommodate the installation of the redundant fire pump system. The bidder shall engage an approved manufacturer's representative to confirm the operability of the existing pump, jockey pump and controllers, and produce documentation demonstrating the existing pumps operate in a manner consistent with the original pump curve (pressure and flow). The new redundant fire pump arrangement shall comply with current code requirements of the Florida Building Code, Florida Fire Prevention Code, NFPA 20 for fire pump installations and other NFPA standards applicable for the installation of the redundant fire pump system. The work will be completed such that the existing fire pump remains in service during the installation of the new redundant fire pump system, ensuring that areas of the building facility remain in service and have the fire protection systems pressurized by the pump. The building will be occupied and in normal use. Other building systems must remain in operation during the installation. The Contractor shall coordinate all piping and electrical disconnects and reconnects with the Owner. Every effort shall be made to minimize impact on the operation of the building's systems. Please see Fire Pump Specifications attached. Construction and Project Schedule: The Contractor shall submit at time of bid a Construction Plan that includes a Preliminary Project Schedule. A. The construction Plan shall indicate how the Contractor plans to address the following issues: 1. Design milestones, including the production of electronic floor plan and installation drawings. 2. Schedule for submittal of construction documents to the Owner's Fire Protection Consultant, the City of Miami Beach Fire Department, and the City of Miami Beach Building Department (Electrical). B. The preliminary schedule submitted with each of the Contractor's bid shall be in Microsoft Project X format and shall indicate all major trade activities, proposed milestones, and completion dates. The schedule must clearly indicate the logic and method in which the Contractor would approach the project. Further, the Contractor shall build into the Project Schedule, 30 calendar days of delay caused by the Owner or Facility Operator. There will be no credit taken should any of these days be unused nor shall there be any additional compensation paid for the 30 calendar days delay.
