The Purchasing Authority of the Town of Newtown reserves the right to accept or reject any or all options, or Bids; to waive any technicality in any Bid or part thereof, and to accept any Bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Newtown. The Town of Newtown (hereinafter known as "Town") is seeking bids for hazardous materials abatement and related demolition at 28 A/B Glen Road, Sandy Hook, Connecticut under the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (CTDAS) Contract 20PSX0154, "Demolition, Rehabilitation, Abatement and Removal of Asbestos, PCB's, Lead, Mold, Pathogens and Materials or Substances that may be defined as Hazardous to Human Health". The cost Bids shall be in accordance with the 20PSX0154 CTDAS contract provisions and rates. Bids received after that date and time will be rejected. Emailed written requests for information will not be accepted after NOON on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. As the scope of work is well defined, the Town is requesting a Lump Sum bid per building based upon CTDAS Contract 20PSX0154, Exhibit B rates and other applicable contract provisions. As an Add Alternate to the Lump Sum prices per building for the specified work, the Town is also requesting Add Alternate Lump Sum prices for Building 2, Building 3, Building 4 and Building 5 as described in the attached Bid Sheets. The total compensation to the Contractor will be the Lump Sum bid prices plus the selected Add Alternate bid items. The Add Alternate bid items will be awarded at the sole discretion of the Town. Depending on the total cost, the Town may not award the specified work at one or more of the buildings, which is at the sole discretion of the Town. The project award will be based upon the bid pricing, the Contractor's work plan, and the Contractor's recent experience on similar projects including the history of cost and schedule adherence. The Town will also look favorably upon a bidder who identifies unanticipated problems and proposed solutions or identifies potential cost/schedule savings not included in the current plans and specifications.
