Renovation of an educational facility in Arlington, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The SCBE requests bids for Bolton HS Roofing Repair. The specifications are contained in the Design Project Manual. Responses submitted must meet or exceed all requirements. Bids that do not meet or exceed all requirements will be considered non-responsive. The Bolton HS Roofing Repair scope of work includes, but not limited to, roof repairs in the main office area at this location. The Scope of Work for the Bolton HS Roofing Repair Project shall include and not be limited to the following: Main office area- repair penetration, a/c curbs, field sheet seams, and scuppers. Cafe area (shingles) N Building Inspect the entire roof over Main office, Cafe, N Building and Gym area for visible damage. Seal all holes, cuts, & loose seams. Patch & repair any areas that are leaking. Repair/ replaced Flash for curbs. Repair/ replace Flash for pitch pockets. Repair/replace Flash for pipes. Areas previously coated will be repaired with like materials. Clean up Jobsite upon completion. Shelby County Board of Education (SCBE) is the legal name of the Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) district. MSCS is Tennessee's largest public school district and is among the 25 largest publicschool districts in the United States. MSCS serves approximately 110,000 students in 207 schools. We employ more than 6,200 teachers and 6,000 support personnel to serve our unique student population while offering programming and services to fit the needs of all our students. Relevant, Rigorous, and Equitable Academics SCOPE OF WORK The SCBE requests bids for Bolton HS Roofing Repair. The specifications are contained in the Design Project Manual. Responses submitted must meet or exceed all requirements. Bids that do not meet or exceed all requirements will be considered non-responsive. The Bolton HS Roofing Repair scope of work includes, but not limited to, roof repairs in the main office area at this location. Additional scope information is provided (See page 13 for the detailed scope of services and link to access drawings/specifications) The right is reserved to reject any or all Bids. If substitutions are offered, give full particulars. The Shelby County Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids, or any part thereof, and to waive any minor informalities and/or technicalities that are deemed to be in the best interest of the Shelby County Board of Education. Successful BIDDER, CONTRACTOR, OR RESPONDENTs shall be paid only when delivery is complete. *For the appropriate purchases, all material data safety data sheets (MSDA) must accompany all shipments covered under Tennessee Hazardous Chemical Right to Know Law- Tennessee Public Chapter #417- House Bill #731. During the solicitation process bidders are not permitted to contact the Board and project Owner regarding the posted solicitation. Failure to adhere to this requirement may subject the respondent to immediate disqualification. A Notice of Intent to Award is written notification that a vendor has been selected for a contract award. Notice of Intent to Award is sent for contracts requiring School Board approval. This letter is not a guarantee of award. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject or accept the recommendation submitted. If the Board accepts and approves the recommendation, an executed agreement will be submitted to the successful vendor. If the Board rejects the recommendation, MSCS shall rescind the Notice of Intent to Award Question: Once the Bid has been published, all communication regarding this project must be directed to Procurement Services. All questions or requests for clarification of technical issues and terms pertaining to this Bid must be emailed to JaNese Graves gravesj1@scsk12.org and Mary Taylor, taylorm15@scsk12.org by 10:00 AM/CST on January 11, 2024. Subject line of email shall read "Questions - IFB #01252024AJKG Bolton HS Roofing Repair." Questions must specifically reference the section of the Bid to which the question pertains. To prevent an unfair advantage to any respondent, all questions and answers will be posted electronically on January 16, 2024 by EOD. No interpretation of the meaning of the specifications or other documents will be made to any Supplier orally. Please do not submit questions in PDF format. The anticipated terms of this contract shall be up to (1) year. The work shall begin after issuance of the "Notice to Proceed. Estimated start time is 02/01/2024. Final completion date is projected at 05/15/2024. *Please note that there is a blackout period from April 15th through May 3rd where no work can be performed, with the exception of weekends.* POINT OF CONTACT JaNese Graves, Senior Buyer, Procurement, gravesj1@scsk12.org Mary Taylor, Sourcing Manager, Procurement, taylorm15@scsk12.org The successful Bidder accepts this contract with the understanding that should they fail to complete the work/delivery in an acceptable manner and in the time stated, shall be subject to the payment of liquidated damages as stated in the bid document. Liquidated damages for this project are as follows: $500.00 /per day substantial completion deadline missed and $500.00/per day completion deadline missed. BID BOND: Bidders are required to submit a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total estimated contract amount for each individual school location, as determined by SCBE and specified in the IFB, to ensure the satisfactory completion of the work for which a contract or purchase order is awarded that may exceed $100K. Should the Bidder withdraw their bid response without entering into a contract the Bid Bond may be forfeited in whole or in part. PERFORMANCE AND LABOR BOND: The successful Bidder(s) will be required to submit a performance and/or labor bond, Cashier's or Certified Check in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total estimated contract amount for each individual school location, as determined by SCBE and specified in the IFB, to ensure the satisfactory completion of the work for which a contract or purchase order is awarded that exceeds $100K. The bond, cashier or certified check must be made in favor of the SHELBY COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION, MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE 38112. Contract(s) shall be awarded to the best, qualified, lowest responsible and responsive Bidder(s), offering the lowest bid price on the time and materials basis: Bidders must be able to complete the project on or before May 15, 2024. Pricing shall remain firm for the initial term of the agreement. Bid submission shall be labeled on the outside of each submitted package with the following: 1. Bidder's name and business address. 2. Bid Due Date/Time for receipt of Bids, and 3. Invitation for Bid (IFB) number and Title
