1. Seal Madelia Municipal Well No. 4 (213559). Salvage existing pump, motor, and discharge head to be utilized in new Well No. 6. 2. Replace Well No. 4 with new Municipal Well No. 6. Install salvaged pump, motor, and discharge head from Well No. 4 into new Well No. 6. Question Deadline 01/18/2024 Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all registered plan holders. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. 1960 Premier Drive, Mankato, MN 56001, (507) 625-4171, fax (507) 625-4177 The WORK to be performed under this Contract shall consist of furnishing all plant, tools, equipment, materials, supplies, and manufactured articles and for furnishing all transportation and services, including fuel, power, water, and essential communications, and for the performance of all labor, work, or other operations required for the fulfillment of the Contract in strict accordance with the Contract Documents. The WORK shall be complete, and all work, materials, and services not expressly shown or called for in the Contract Documents which may be necessary for the complete and proper construction of the WORK in good faith shall be performed, furnished, and installed by the CONTRACTOR as though originally so specified or shown, at no increase in cost to the OWNER. 1.2 PROJECT LOCATION A. The project is located in the City of Madelia, MN, which is located in Watonwan County. The project location is shown on the vicinity map in the design drawing set. 1.3 PROJECT DESCRIPTION A. The work hereafter referred to requires the complete construction and start-up necessary for the facility with all required necessary equipment, generally described, but not limited to, in the following paragraphs: 1. Replace Well No. 4 with new Municipal Well No. 6. Salvage existing pump, motor, and discharge head to be utilized in new well. 2. Seal Madelia Municipal Well No. 4 (213559). Salvage existing pump, motor, and discharge head to be utilized in new well. 1.4 ORDER OF THE WORK A. The work shall be carried out at such places on the project and also in such order or precedence as may be found necessary by the Engineer to expedite the completion of the project. After work has begun on any portion of the project, it shall be carried forward to its final completion. All work shall conform to the provisions of the approved Contractor's schedule. 1.5 INTERFERENCE WITH WORK ON UTILITIES A. The Contractor shall cooperate fully with all utility forces of the OWNER or forces of other public or private agencies engaged in the relocation, altering, or otherwise rearranging of any facilities which interfere with the progress of the work, and shall schedule the work so as to minimize interference with said relocation, altering, or other rearranging of facilities. 1.6 SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION A. The Contractor shall at all times conduct his operations so as to minimize any impact on existing treatment processes and water supply. At no time shall the Contractor's operations cause the OWNER to abandon any portion of the treatment process. B. The Contractor shall coordinate all process interruptions with the OWNER, Engineer, and operations staff. All construction shall be coordinated with the plant operations staff at all times. Any night work nd overtime payments that may be required for modifications performed at low flow shall be considered to have been included in the price bid for work. 1.7 CONTRACTOR USE OF PROJECT SITE A. The CONTRACTOR's use of the project site shall be limited to its construction operations, including on-site storage of materials, on-site fabrication facilities, and field offices. B. Completion of the well house is to be conducted under a separate contract. C. A new parking lot is to be constructed around the new well and well house (to be conducted under a separate contract.) 1.8 OWNER USE OF THE PROJECT SITE A. The OWNER may utilize all or part of the existing site and existing facilities during the entire period of construction. The CONTRACTOR shall cooperate with the OWNER to minimize interference with the CONTRACTOR's operations and to facilitate the OWNER's operations. In any event, the OWNER shall be allowed access to the project site during the period of construction.
