**As of February 15, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Demolition and/or salvage of existing site features and preparation of subgrade within the existing baseball field, furnish and install synthetic turf system, and consequential site work. The intended construction start date is March 4, 2024 and the owner requests substantial completion on or before April 26, 2024. The project may be constructed under two general contracts as follows: Bid Form #1: Site Development and Bid Form #2: Synthetic Turf System. Bid documents will be available for viewing at the Independence Community School District Administrative Office, the Engineer's office, 1001 Office Park Road, Suite 120, West Des Moines, Iowa 50265 A complete set of bidding documents are available electronically from Larson Engineering at no cost (request shall be sent to jcurley@larsonengr.com). A $150.00 deposit or current MBI/ABC Plans Request Card, made payable to Independence Community School District, is required for a complete paper copy of the drawings and Project Manual specifications. Any shipping and handling costs are the responsibility of the bidder. Plan deposits will be refunded upon the return of the documents, in reusable condition to Larson Engineering within 14 days after the award of the project. Failure to comply will result in the forfeiture of the plan deposit. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid submitted. Bid Security must be in the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders and submitted in a separate sealed envelope clearly labeled Bid Security. Bid Security must be in one of the following forms: Certified Check, Cashier's Check, Certified Share Draft or an approved Bond Form. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance and Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds both in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price and in accordance with other requirements outlined in the Bid Documents. The Board of Education of the Independence Community School District reserves the right to conduct such investigations as allowed by law to assist in the evaluation of and to establish the responsibility and qualifications of the apparent low bidders to perform the work in accordance with the contract documents to its satisfaction within the prescribed time. This project is tax exempt. Do Not include Iowa State Sales Tax in any calculation of Bid totals. Contractors and Suppliers will be provided an Iowa sales tax exemption certificate for this project.
