The Sludge Landfill Closure Final Cover Project waste grading of approximately 5,000 cubic yards of on-site material, erosion control mechanisms, a 6-inch gas collection sand layer, 12-inch thick impervious borrow layer, furnish and install 40-mil textured geomembrane, 12-inch thick drainage sand, 8-inch thick vegetative cover layer, rip rap ditches and downspouts, and seed and mulch, as detailed in the Summary of Work. All bids must be made upon the forms. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Bid Bond, Contract Performance Bond and a Contract Payment Bond, each for 100 percent of the contract price. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all informalities and to negotiate contract terms with the successful Bidder, and the right to disregard all non-conforming, non-responsive or conditional Bids. Discrepancies between words and figures will be resolved in favor of words. The work consists of the following at the Sanford Sewerage District Wastewater Treatment Facility in Sanford, Maine: 1) Extend three manholes within the area of final cover as shown on the Contract Drawings; 2) Extend cleanouts within the area of final cover as shown on the Contract Drawings; 3) Construction and maintenance of erosion control mechanisms as shown on the Contract Drawings; 4) Install gas collection vents as shown on the Contract Drawings: The gas collection system shall include all sand, fittings, adapters, and pipe. The Owner will supply approximately 8,900 cubic yards of gas collection sand on-site to be hauled and placed by the Contractor. The remaining quantity needed will be supplied, delivered, and placed by the Contractor; 5) Fine grade waste in area of final cover to grades shown on the Contract Drawings prior to impervious borrow placement; 6) Supply, haul, and placement of 12 inches of impervious borrow as shown on the Contract Drawings and described in the technical specifications; 7) Furnish and install 40-mil textured geomembrane: Work to include all necessary pipe boots and details for anchor trench termination, installing, testing, and documenting 40-mil textured HDPE geomembrane, installation required for the cover construction. The Contractor shall be responsible for storage and covering the geosynthetics delivered to the site. 8) Place the Owner-and Contractor-supplied drainage layer to depths and limits shown on the Contract Drawings. 9) Construction of perimeter and riprap ditches and sediment trap for stormwater management as shown on the Contract Drawings; 10) Manufacturing and placement of the vegetative cover soil layer: The contractor shall be responsible for manufacturing (mixing) the vegetative cover layer, loading, hauling, and placing the vegetative cover layer as shown on the Contract Drawings; and 11) Re-establish perimeter road in the area of the project.
