Reference Number 0000339129 The City of East Lansing Department of Planning, Building, and Development seeks a qualified contractor to provide construction services for Phase I of the Downtown Lighting Enhancement Project. The Downtown Lighting Enhancement Project is intended to increase safety and enhance the pedestrian experience during nighttime hours by improving lighting in various downtown East Lansing locations. Phase I will improve the lighting at Bill Sharp Park, located on the northeast corner of Albert Avenue and Abbot Road. This project aligns with the following goals from East Lansing's Economic Development Strategic Plan: Goal 2.3: Prioritize a people-focused, high-quality built environment conducive for socializing, participating in the local economy, and enhances the pedestrian experience. Goal 2.5: Ensure safety and security, maintenance, and sanitization are factored into and addressed in placemaking projects. The selected contractor will be responsible for installing lighting, distribution, and upgrading the existing panel in accordance with the design plans included as Appendix I of this Request for Proposals document. This project is funded using federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) dollars. This means that all contracts will be subject to the CDBG Supplemental Conditions included on pages 22-26 of this document as well as the established prevailing wages detailed in Appendix II.
