Reference Number 0000339021 Assist the City in improvements to Hickory Tree Road by providing the following engineering services related to roadway design, utilities improvements, right of way (ROW) acquisition, environmental engineering, drainage design, pedestrian design, traffic engineering and construction management for Hickory Tree Road in accordance with the 2022 Balch Springs Hickory Tree Road Planning Study by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), 2019 Balch Springs Mobility Plan and 2036 Balch Springs Comprehensive Plan. The firm hired is to provide contract-related engineering and design services, including but not limited to the following areas: Project scope to include design of Hickory Tree Road as denoted in the attached Exhibit A location map from Lake June Road to Elam Road with improvements consisting of reconstruction of a two-lane roadway to a three-lane concrete roadway with pedestrian improvements including a 6-foot sidewalk and 12' shared use path. Project shall also be designed in coordination of any planned or existing intersection improvements at Lake June Road at Hickory Tree Road and/or provide recommended intersection improvements at Hickory Tree Road at Elam Road. Project scope shall also be designed to coordinate any improvements to the drainage system along Hickory Tree Road, coordination with Mesquite Independent School District (MISD) and STAR Transit local fixed route along the corridor.
