Renovation of a transportation facility in Greenfield, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

Question Deadline 01/22/2024 at 4:00 PM ET 40-01 INTENT OF CONTRACT. The intent of the contract is to provide for construction and completion, in every detail, of the work described. It is further intended that the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation and supplies required to complete the work in accordance with the plans, specifications, and terms of the contract. 40-02 ALTERATION OF WORK AND QUANTITIES. The Owner reserves, and shall have the right to make, such alterations in the work as may be necessary or desirable to complete the work originally intended in an acceptable manner in accordance with Indiana Code 36-1-12-18. The Engineer shall be and is hereby authorized to make such alterations in the work. Alterations shall not invalidate the contract nor release the surety, and the Contractor agrees to accept payment for such alterations as if the altered work had been a part of the original contract. Alterations of work shall be covered by "Change Orders" issued by the Engineer. Change orders for altered work shall include extensions of contract time where, in the Engineer's opinion, such extensions are commensurate with the amount and difficulty of added work. 40-03 OMITTED ITEMS. The Engineer may, in the Owner's best interest, omit from the work any contract item. The omission of any contract item shall be covered by a written change order. Such omission of contract items shall not invalidate any other contract provisions or requirements. For unit price bids, minor items of work may be omitted, in their entirety, without cause for compensation to the Contractor for any work not performed as a result of the omission. For unit price bids, major items of work may be omitted to twenty five percent (25%) of the original quantity and cost of the item of work without cause for compensation to the Contractor for any work not performed as a result of the omission. The omission of any part of a major item of work in excess of 25% of the original quantity or cost of the item of work, shall be cause for negotiation between the Owner and the Contractor, of either the unit price for the remaining work included in the item, or in the event of total omission, compensation to the Contractor for any profit overhead, or administrative costs associated with the item.
