Amherst County will accept sealed bids for demolition and disposal of all structures at 4512 South Amherst Highway, Madison Heights, VA 24572, which include part of a motel, a small adjacent structure and a motel sign. This project consists of multiple structures. One structure is part of a motel that will require inspection and environmental assessment of asbestos and lead, demolition, removal of all debris. The other structures including a small adjacent structure and a motel sign will require demolition and removal of all debris. All work for this project shall be accomplished in a period 120 days from Notice to Proceed, however a monthly progress payment schedule may be agreed upon between the successful bidder and the Amherst County if needed. Payment will be based upon projects completed and satisfactory work performed. Materials will become property of the contractor and may be disposed of at the Amherst County Landfill, unless there are friable asbestos-containing materials. The Contractor will pay tipping fees, if Amherst County Landfill disposal is desired.
