Renovation of a municipal facility in Westerly, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

This facility is for residency use as a group home. The roof of this facility needs to be replaced. Scope of work and specifications are indicated below. SECTION B: SCOPE OF WORK AND REQUIREMENTS WORK TO BE ACCOMPLISHED: Pitched/Slope Roof Specifications: o Completely remove shingles and existing EPDM & roof insulation down to a bare wooden substrate, remove gutters remove all wooden fascia, soffit, rakes and replace with new Azek composite. o Inspect roofing substrate for holes, splits, rot replace as needed. o Remove all skylights. o Install new ice-water barrier to the bottom 9 feet of all roof elevations above gutters, 36 inches wide in all valleys, 3 feet square around chimneys, vents, and soil vent pipes. o Install new 40-year architectural shingles. o Install new gutter system with new (7" commercial) seamless aluminum gutters, downspouts, and accessories. o Saw cut the upper ridge and install new ridge vent cap. o Ensure that all air intakes vents are clear to allow proper air flow through soffits & ridge vents. o Replace all flashing & boots around all protruding vents, pipes, chimneys on roof. Flat Roof Specifications: o Mechanically fastened 1" Poly-Iso insulation, installed over the entire roof substrate. o Install new .060-gauge EPDM membrane directly to the insulation surface, 100% fully adhered. o Extend the EPDM membrane up and under shingles a minimum 18" inches. o Install new aluminum edge metal to the outside perimeter of all low sloped roofs. Replaced gutter system with new (7" commercial) seamless aluminum gutters, downspouts and accessories and replaced fascia and soffit with new Azek composite. Additional Requirements: SITE MANAGEMENT: Contractor will always maintain an organized clean work site throughout this project site will be swept/vacuumed, and all conduction debris will be removed from site and all tools lock in a job box if left on site. SAFETY: The area where the work is to be performed is always in use, therefore, the contractor will protect his work to minimize any danger to the personnel and equipment that are assigned to those areas. WORKMANSHIIP: All work will be performed by qualified mechanics of the trades involved. All work shall be neat, trim, straight, and secure and finished in all details. Any existing work that is damaged will be repaired at no additional cost to the state. GUARANTEE: The contractor shall guarantee all work for a period five (5) years NOTIFICATION: The Buildings and Grounds Coordinator office (401) 474-3703 shall be notified when work is to begin and shall be kept informed of the contractor's work schedule through to the completion of the project, including daily reports to keep track of day-to-day progress. APPROVAL OF MATERIAL: Specification or manufacture's cuts of material to be used on this project shall be submitted to the Building and Grounds Coordinator for approval prior to installation. MATERIALS: Unless identified for reuse, all material to be incorporated into the project shall be furnished and installed new by the contractor. The owner reserves the right to approve or disapprove the use of any existing materials by the contractor. The contractor assumes full responsibility for all assumptions made concerning the incorporation of existing materials in the new work. FINAL ACCEPTANCE: The owner will inspect all work prior to the final acceptance and note any deficiencies found so the contractor can rework them. Leave roof, ground, and surrounding area clean and free of all roof debris. a. Roof shingle accepted colors - (black. gray, charcoal) Question Deadline 01/26/2024 at 5:00 PM ET
