The new automotive technology center is intended to be a hub for advanced automotive and transportation training for the Long Island and greater New York region. It is anticipated that the Center will provide educational experiences to prepare and train new and incumbent workers for careers in this area of high-need, and be a national model for automotive and alternative fuels training featuring public / private partnership with the goal of providing a highly-skilled workforce for the local transportation sector.
