Estimated Cost $75,000 Taunton WTP Low Lift Pumping Station Electrical Feed Improvements Deadline for Submitting Questions January 18, 2024 Questions concerning this IFB must ONLY be submitted in writing to Andrew W. Sukeforth, Director of Procurement, before 4:00 p.m., January 18, 2024. Questions may be mailed, delivered or emailed to asukeforth@taunton-ma.gov. The project contractor shall perform and provide the following: A. Prior to all work, the contractor shall submit a work plan with 48 hours of advance notice, for all scope items and required outages. No planned water treatment plant outage shall exceed 4hours in duration. B. Provide a temporary roll up generator at the low lift pump station for temporary power. The generator shall be sized for 150KW, 480V, 3-Phase, with 24-hours of fuel at full load. The generator and fuel level shall be continuously monitored and maintained for correct operation for the duration of the project. Provide a spill containment berm around roll up generator, as approved by the Owner. Review planned refueling of the generator with Owner prior to all fuel delivery. The generator shall be located as coordinated with the Owner, approximately 150ft from the low lift pump station. C. The contractor shall extend temporary 200A rated cables from the generator into the pump station and make temporary connections to the motor control center 600A main circuit breaker#2. Contractor shall provide entry opening above Low Lift pump station side door using galvanized 4" conduitsleeve with protective bushings on each side. Upon completion of all work, contractor shall provide end caps to permanently seal the conduit sleeve. D. The contractor shall provide supplemental temporary power connections to panels inside the low lift pump station for pump controls and low lift station operation during all work. Confirm control power is operational with Owner for pump#3 operation. E. The low lift pump station MCC 600A Tie circuit breaker shall be opened, locked out and tagged out. F. The low lift pump station MCC 600A main circuit breaker#1 shall be opened, locked out and tagged out. G. The 600A low lift pump station feeder circuit breaker (mounted to the end section of the main 480V water treatment plant switchgear) shall be opened, locked out and tagged out. H. The contractor shall remove the existing 600A, 480V, 3-Phase feeder to the low lift pump station (approx. 500ft). The contractor shall rod & mandrel all conduit sections prior to new feeder installation. The contractor shall dispose of removed cabling. I. The contractor shall provide a replacement 600A feeder for the low lift station. This shall include providing (2) sets of 3ea 600KCMIL and 1ea #1 AWG copper XHHW-1 conductors, routed in 2ea existing conduits, from the existing 600A rated circuit feeder breaker in the main electric room (Low Lift bus tapped circuit breaker at end of switchgear) to the 600A main circuit breaker#1 of the low lift pump station's double ended motor control center. The new 600A rated XHHW-1 conductors shall be installed, and megger tested to ensure electrical continuity prior to energization. Confirm testing is complete and conductors are suitable for use, with the Owner J. The contractor shall provide a permanent Nema 3R, 480V, 3-Phase, 600A rated roll up generator docking station with internal 600A circuit breaker, located adjacent to the low lift pump station on a concrete equipment pad. The generator docking station shall be permanently wired to the low lift pump station MCC, main 600A circuit breaker#2 using (2) sets of 3ea 350KCMIL and 1ea #1 AWG copper XHHW-1 conductors, routed in 2ea rigid galvanized steel conduits. The contractor shall coordinate exact location of roll up connection box and conduit routing with Owner prior to all work. The docking station shall be Trystar Model SBDS-06-5-P-L-L-G or approved equal. K. Items A through I do not include long lead time equipment or materials and can be completed immediately, per project schedule. Item J will have lead time for equipment. The contractor shall perform preparatory work in advance of the equipment delivery. The contractor shall coordinate final connection and testing.
