Demolition, site work, paving, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Boston, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the addition of a 3,900-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The scope of work is further detailed in the specification and includes, but not limited to The PJ Kennedy School will be renovated to provide accessibility upgrades and fire protection service to the entire existing school building. Bids shall be on a bid form supplied by PFD, marked clearly as a bid, and signed by the bidder as amended, and in accordance with the terms and provisions of the contract documents entitled: - PJ Kennedy Addition and Renovation. The scope of work is further detailed in the specification and includes, but not limited to The PJ Kennedy School will be renovated to provide accessibility upgrades and fire protection service to the entire existing school building. The project will also include a roughly 3,900 SF 2 story addition housing a new main entrance at-grade, a new stairwell, a new elevator serving all 3 levels of the building, and accessible toilets. Renovations in the existing building consist of the complete renovation of toilets throughout, replacement of drinking fountains, modification to the remaining stairs, replacement of doors and hardware, signage, and other work as specified. Site work will include replacement and relocation of the playground equipment, and modifications to the hard-sur- face play area and parking lot. A new exterior stair and sidewalk access from Bennington Street will replace a large swath of unused asphalt, along with new fencing. All bids must be accompanied by a 5% bid bond deposit of the amount bid, DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility (approved in the applicable trade/category of work and DCAMM Up- date Statement. All interested bidders are directed to the bid specifications and plans for full information on any and all requirements applicable to this bid. A performance bond and labor and materials payment bond satisfactory to the Awarding Authority in the sum of 100% of the contract price will be required of the successful bidder. Expected contract duration is for 690 days. Prevailing wages shall apply. Deadline for questions: January 17, 2024. All questions must be submitted in writing directly to bid.info@boston.gov.
