The County of Minburn No. 27 is calling for Invitations to Tender for their 2024 Contract Gravel Haul Program. The 2024 Contract Gravel Haul Program is being used to prolong the life of existing road infrastructure by re-graveling sections of local roads per specification standards. This work involves hauling and designated spreading of approximately 98,025 tonnes of County supplied gravel on approximately 459.5 miles of local roads within the municipality. The County operates out of several gravel pits/stockpiles seven of which are within municipal boundaries. The locations of all five being used in 2024 The average haul distance in 2023 varied depending on the Division but was approximately 19.8 miles. The projected haul for the 2024 program is calculated by comparing it to the 2023 average for comparison purposes only. It is anticipated that the average haul distance for 2024 will be less than 19.8 miles. A loading factor will apply on approximately 69,295 tonnes of gravel and only on loads where the haul distance is less than 10 miles.
