Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Columbus, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; road / highway; and road / highway.

**As of March 7, 2024, the project was awarded to Forest Landscaping & Construction, Inc., but the awarded amount is not available.* Project involves street and or utility work as described below: Base Bid A - Richmond Street and Selden Street (Lewis Street - Charles Street) Reconstruction includes, but shall not be limited to, approximately 760 LF of urban section (28 feet face to face of curb) street reconstruction including stone base course removal, remove and replace approximately 550 tons of asphaltic pavement, remove and replace concrete curb and gutter, remove and replacement of concrete drive approaches, removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk; approximately 745 LF of 8-inch sanitary sewer, including manholes, service laterals, and miscellaneous appurtenances; approximately 845 LF of 8-inch water main installation including valves, water services and miscellaneous appurtenances; approximately 88 LF of 12-inch storm sewer installation including inlets, and miscellaneous appurtenances; saw cutting; work zone traffic control; and erosion and sediment control measures, surface restoration, cleanup and miscellaneous appurtenant facilities required to complete construction. Note these quantities for both Richmond Street and Charles Street are combined under one base bid for this project. Base Bid B - Commercial Drive (Maple Avenue - Dix Street) Commercial Drive reconstruction includes, but shall not be limited to, approximately 1,000 LF of urban section (26 feet edge of pavement to edge of pavement) street reconstruction including pulverizing of approximately 2240 LF of asphaltic pavement street; approximately 848 LF of 12- inch, 15-inch, and 18-inch RCP storm sewer culvert installation including endwalls, inlets, and miscellaneous appurtenances; 2,390 tons of asphaltic pavement; work zone traffic control; ditch regarding; and erosion and sediment control measures, surface restoration, cleanup and miscellaneous appurtenant facilities required to complete construction. The City is intending to complete miscellaneous work associated with the base bid for this project. The following are mandatory alternate bids for this project that will be evaluated to determine which alternates will be accepted by the City to complete in addition to the base bid. Mandatary Alternate 1 - Cemetery Paving Cemetery paving will include an asphalt overlay of approximately 1,275 LF of varying width asphalt pavement. Work will include saw cutting, removal of pavement to match into existing and overlay of approximately 500 tons of asphaltic pavement. Removal of curb and gutter and restoration will be provided by the City. Mandatory Alternate 2 - Ingalsbe Street Ingalsbe Street includes, but shall not be limited to, removal of existing asphalt pavement (stone base will remain), undercutting and repaving the rural section existing street. In addition, the work includes construction of a new parking area for the tennis courts with sidewalk connections from Ingalsbe Street to the parking lot and the tennis courts. The new parking area will include excavation of parking area to subgrade. The project includes approximately 270 tons of asphaltic pavement, work zone traffic control; erosion and sediment control measures, surface restoration, cleanup and miscellaneous appurtenant facilities required to complete construction. Mandatory Alternate 3 - Warner Street Warner Street includes, but is not limited to, removal of existing asphalt pavement (stone base will remain). Work will include saw cutting, preparation subbase and installation of approximately 220 LF new curb and gutter. The project includes approximately 150 tons of asphaltic pavement, work zone traffic control; erosion and sediment control measures, surface restoration, cleanup and miscellaneous appurtenant facilities required to complete construction. Mandatory Alternate 4- Blackhawk Street Blackhawk Street includes, but is not limited to, removal of existing asphalt pavement (stone base will remain). Work will include saw cutting, removing and replace approximately 120 LF of existing curb and gutter. The project includes approximately 60 tons of asphaltic pavement, work zone traffic control; erosion and sediment control measures, surface restoration, cleanup and miscellaneous appurtenant facilities required to complete construction. All Work is included in a single prime contract. To demonstrate Bidder's qualifications to perform the Work, within five (5) days of Owner's request, Bidder shall submit written evidence establishing its qualifications. Bids must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to City of Columbus in an amount of 5% of BIDDER's maximum Bid price and in the form of a certified check, or an electronic Bid Bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of Paragraph 6.01 of the General Conditions. Bidder is required to upload a copy of the Bid security deliver the original certified check or bid bond within 48 hours after close of bid to Ruekert & Mielke, Inc., Attn: Jason P. Lietha P.E., 4630 S. Biltmore Lane, Madison WI 53718.Construction time is of the essence. Completion delays are subject to liquidated damages. The City of Columbus reserves the right to accept the most advantageous Bid, or to reject any and all Bids. Award of Work described herein is subject to the provisions of the Wisconsin Statutes.
