Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Kingsland, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.
General Instructions : Proposal must contain a manual signature of an authorized representative. Proposals must be typed or printed in ink. Use of erasable ink is not permitted. All corrections by Proposer to any Proposal entry must be initialed. Work shall be completed no later than 180 Days following the commencement date of the contract and following written Notice to Proceed by Owner Scope of Work City of Kingsland Public Works Department is seeking vendors to construct Asphalt Resurfacing on City roads/streets. Work is to include tack, striping and traffic control. City of Kingsland will provide all manhole and valve extension rings to be installed by the contractor at time of paving. Striping to match existing layout including R/R crossings, stop bars, crosswalks and long lines unless noted otherwise. All striping is to be completed using thermoplastic with reflective beads. Overlay to be 1.5 inches of .95 asphalt. NOW THEREFORE, the conditions of this obligation are such that if the Bid be accepted, the Principal shall within ten days after receipt of conformed contact documents execute a contract accordance with the Bid upon the terms, conditions and prices set forth therein, and in the form and manner required by the Owner and execute a sufficient and satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment Bond payable to the Owner, each in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price, in form and with security satisfactory to the Owner, or in the event of the failure of the Contractor to execute and deliver the Contract Agreement and give said Performance and Payments Bonds, the Contractor shall pay the Owner the difference not to exceed the penalty hereof between the amount specified in said Proposal and such larger amount for which the Owner may in good faith contract with another party to perform the work covered by said Proposal, and execute the Special Assurances form, then this obligation shall be void; otherwise, it shall be and remain in full force and virtue in law; and the Surety shall, upon failure of the Principle to comply with any or all of the foregoing requirements within the time specified above, immediately pay to the aforesaid Owner, upon the demand, the amount hereof in good and lawful money of the United States of America not as a penalty, but as liquidated damages. 5% Bid Bond (page 10 & 11). Pre-Proposal Meeting There will not be a pre-proposal meeting. Scope of Work City of Kingsland Public Works Department is seeking vendors to construct Asphalt Resurfacing on City roads/streets. All proposals shall be submitted in a sealed envelope. The Request for Proposal (RFP) number, title, opening date and name of bidder shall be clearly displayed on the outside of the sealed envelope. The delivery of said proposal to the prescribed delivery point on or before the specified opening date and time is solely and strictly the responsibility of the Proposer. Any proposal received at the prescribed delivery point after the specified date and time will NOT be accepted. Proposals must be submitted in writing and as prescribed by the City. No other forms will be accepted. No Proposal may be modified after opening. Required Documents to Be Submitted One (1) original and one (1) copies of documents which must include the following information: 1. Copy of firm's current Certificate of Insurance 2. Copy of signed W-9 3. E-Verify Contractor and/or Sub-Contractor/Sub-Subcontractor Affidavit (Must be a Notarized Original) 4. City of Kingsland Business License (if awarded) Liquidation of Damages VENDOR and OWNER recognize that time is of the essence of this Agreement and that OWNER may suffer financial loss or liability if the Work is not completed within the times specified; plus, any extensions thereof allowed by an official written request and approval of an extension of time. The parties also recognize the delays, expense, and difficulties involved in proving, in a legal or arbitration proceeding, of the actual loss suffered by OWNER if the Work is not completed on time. Accordingly, instead of requiring any such proof, OWNER and VENDOR agree that as liquidated damages for delay (but not as a penalty), VENDOR shall pay OWNER $300.00 for each calendar day that expires after the time specified for completion until the work or product is finalized and accepted by the City.
