Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in The Colony, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
As of April 25, 2024, the project is awarded to The Fain Group, with an awarded amount of $1,070,064.75. The scope of work consists of the partial re-construction of Nash Drive west of Main Street (FM 423), and the construction of a new fire lane, and any other work deemed necessary by the City of The Colony. Drainage improvements are provided with the paving improvements. The work includes, but is not limited to, mobilization, preparation of right-of-way, traffic control, approximately 1,600 CY earthwork embankment (borrow), approximately 1,410 SY of 6-inch thick reinforced concrete pavement on compacted subgrade, and approximately 417 SY of 4-inch thick reinforced concrete sidewalks, approximately 103 LF of 5'x5' reinforced concrete box culvert, 2-PW-Mod concrete wingwall, 186 LF Combination Rail Ty C221, approximately 1,080 SY of PYRAMAT 75 High Performance Turf Reinforcement Mat or approved equal, approximately 132 LF modular retaining wall, and any other work deemed necessary by the City of The Colony. The opinion of probable construction cost for the overall project is $913,757.25. All of the above shall be done in accordance with TxDOT and NCTCOG specifications with the City of the Colony's Addenda and as per instructions of the City of The Colony City Engineer. All construction sequencing and barricading will be done according to the City of The Colony Standards. All construction within the TxDOT right-of-way shall be constructed after on-site concrete pavement and culvert are completed and plans are approved by TxDOT. The contractor shall schedule a pre-work inspection with the TxDOT inspector at least 48 hours prior to beginning work. The successful bidder will be required to furnish Payment and Performance Bonds for 100% of amount bid and a two (2) year Maintenance Bonds in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) or ten (10%) percent of the amount of the contract, whichever is greater, but not to exceed one hundred (100) percent of the contract amount, from a Surety licensed to do business in the State of Texas, within fifteen (15) days of the bid award. The bidder must submit, prior to the bid opening time, proof of insurance and a Bid Bond in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid amount to Purchasing Manager (cdelossantos@thecolonytx.gov). Originals must be submitted in the bid packet OR received by the Purchasing Manager before the bid opening. The winning bidder, upon City acceptance, will be required to provide the City with a minimum two (2) year maintenance bond. The maintenance bond shall be in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) or ten (10%) percent of the amount of the contract, whichever is greater, but not to exceed one hundred (100) percent of the contract amount. Any questions regarding the bid process, procedures, plans, or specifications shall be submitted through Bonfire. All responses will be posted to Bonfire. Any addenda for this project will be posted on the Bonfire website where prospective bidders may download them. City of The Colony reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to waive any informality in any bid, and to accept the bid which, in its discretion, is in the best interest of the City of The Colony.
