E-mail subject line should read: Question--CSP #2324-011 New Elementary #6 Network Equipment o Proposals must have a cover page with vendor's name and contact information Objective Dripping Springs ISD is requesting proposals from qualified respondents for CSP #23-24-011 New Elementary #6 Network Equipment outlined in the specifications below. Dripping Springs Independent School District ("DSISD" or the "District") will engage with the awarded proposer/contractor in accordance with the instructions, terms and conditions, and requirements/specifications contained in the associated solicitation and the negotiated contract agreement. Proposals received after the opening date and time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened to the vendor. One (1) clearly defined original, one (1) clearly defined copy and one (1) electronic format - flash drive of the response is required for evaluation purposes. Electronic copy must be in a Microsoft Office format (i.e., Word, Excel) or a searchable PDF document. Any explanation desired by a Vendor regarding the meaning or interpretation of this Solicitation must be submitted in writing to the Buyer by Monday, January 29, 2024 by 1:00 p.m.. All requests must include all contact and Solicitation information to be considered. Failure to provide this information may delay a response from the District. The District reserves the right to inform the requester that the response to their request will be submitted through an addendum to all interested vendors and not be addressed directly through their request. Site Address New Elementary #6 address will be 294 Mira Vista Drive, Dripping Springs, TX 78620 Scope and Purpose The intent of this proposal is to seek bids to engage a contractor to procure and install wired and wireless network infrastructure and battery backups (UPSs) at our new location (currently called New Elementary #6), which is planned to open in the fall of 2025. Minimum proposer requirements: Proposer must be a registered E-Rate provider in good standing with the School and Libraries Division of USAC. Respondents must provide a valid SPIN as part of their submission. Vendors must have an active State of Texas DIR or equivalent master agreement in place as of the date of proposal submission. Please provide active contract numbers. The district intends to seek E-Rate funding for all eligible services contained herein. Current Switch/Wired Infrastructure The district currently utilizes Cisco Catalyst 9500 series switches for the core and distribution network layers and Cisco Catalyst 9300 series switches for the access layer. Connectivity between the core and distribution layers for existing campuses is 40Gbps single mode fiber and connectivity between the distribution layer and access layer (within the campus/building) is 10 Gbps using OM4 multimode fiber. All OM4 fiber runs will be less than 400 meters. Current Wireless Infrastructure The district currently utilizes Cisco access points. Models used include C9130AXI-B, C9130AXE-B, among others. Quantities and types of access points needed are broken down by location and purpose on the Parts List Attachment included in the proposal. Current UPS/Battery Backup Infrastructure The district is currently using Schneider/APC UPSs in the MDFs and IDFs. Various models are in use depending on specific requirements, with a target goal of keeping power available to the network for ~30 minutes. Quantities and types of UPSs needed are broken down by location and purpose on the Parts List Attachment included in the proposal. The district is looking to add to the current network infrastructure with Cisco or equivalent hardware, and battery backup with Schneider/APC or equivalent hardware. Hardware/Software Requirements Must include mGig connectivity in all wiring closets (MDF and IDFs) for wireless access points. No closet will have more than 48 access points wired to it. The district currently uses Cisco DNAC (SDA Fabric) and Cisco ISE for network device and network access management, respectively. Wired and wireless network equipment must be fully compatible with Cisco DNAC and Cisco ISE architectures for the purposes of network access and device management. Trunks between the core (data center) and distribution (main campus switch/router) shall be 40Gbps. Trunks between the distribution and access layers shall be 10 Gbps. Partner shall include 5 years of software/hardware maintenance/support/licensing costs in their proposals. Wireless access points must support WiFi 6 (802.11ax) as well as all other lower versions. If the bidding entity submits a bid for equivalent network equipment not listed on the Parts List Attachment, they must fully explain how it meets or exceeds specifications, interoperability, and compatibility requirements of proposed equipment. The district has included all the necessary network information it believes is needed to complete the response. The proposer shall use the included Parts List Attachment when submitting their bids, modifying it as necessary to accommodate part number changes, add pricing, specify eRate category and eligibility, and all other pertinent information as requested. Integration Partner/Bidder Requirements When submitting their bid, the partner must show all hardware and software components, applicable eRate categories (I or II), and percentages of eRate eligibility. The Partner shall ensure all of their employees who will be on-site will be background-checked and badged (as needed) by the district before arrival. The district will provide assistance in the badging process if necessary. Partner must be a Texas-based company and have the appropriate certified engineers and installers locally sourced (within Texas) Any work that requires an interruption of service shall be performed after hours. Partner shall physically install all indoor access points, all UPSs, and all switches. A lift will likely be required in some areas (gym, cafeteria, etc.) and shall be obtained by the contractor.
