Site work for a water / sewer project in Charleston, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Maintenance dredging of approximately 3,248,500 cubic yards of unclassified material will be performed across multiple locations in Charleston and Berkeley Counties, South Carolina. The base dredging quantity is 3,016,000 cubic yards. The dredging areas include Charleston Lower Harbor, Charleston Upper Harbor, Joint Base Charleston, TC Dock (optional), and USCG Pier Papa (optional). Material from Charleston Lower Harbor Shoals will be placed in the Daniel Island Placement Area - Middle Cell. Material from Charleston Upper Harbor Shoals will be placed in the Clouter Creek Placement Area, with approximately 500,000 cubic yards going to the North Cell and the remainder, including material from Pier P, to the South Cell. Material from Joint Base Charleston Channel, including TC Dock, will be placed in the Joint Base Charleston Placement Area. The contractor must comply with the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammals Protection Act. The project includes mobilization and demobilization, dredging work, provision of a utility vehicle for government use, and compliance with environmental regulations. The estimated magnitude of work is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. The contract is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 237900, with a small business size standard of $37 million. The contractor must be registered in SAM.gov.
