Prepare detailed quantity estimates for tender, materials and sundry constructions; 2. In major grading areas and areas of excavation greater than 0.5 m, quantities are to be calculated using original ground cross-sections; 3. All surplus stripping, grubbing, earth and rock material is to be used within the ROW; 4. Recommend the number of Working Days for the completion of the construction work and provide updates to this estimate as required; 5. The Service Provider shall be responsible for completion and/or updating of the construction cost estimates in accordance with the Scope & Cost Report (SCR) Guidelines; 6. Develop and identify the project cost/schedule risk, risk mitigation, probability of risk occurrence and associated risk costs that are required for the cost estimate. The Ministry's Project Manager will provide guidance and support to the Service Provider for completion of the SCR Risk Register; 7. Investigation and confirmation of utility conflicts; 8. Schedule utility relocations in advance of construction start in order to avoid conflicts which could result in the Ministry being considered a "Constructor" under the OHSA; 9. Incorporation of design drawings and specifications of work designed by others, when required; 10. Contract documents shall be prepared using the latest version of the Ministry's Contract Preparation System (CPS); 11. A digital copy plot of all plans and cross sections required for the construction of the Project is to be provided to the Ministry; 12. Deliver the required number of digital copies of the documentation for the detail design phase at the Final Submission of Construction Contract Package to CPCS date using current Ministry standards, policies and practices; This assignment includes the drainage design services for the rehabilitation of Walter Bean Trail and erosion control measures within the limits of the project. All assumptions made during the preparation of the proposal shall be clearly identified and explained in the appropriate Work Plans. The Service Provider is expected to conduct site visit(s) to understand the area of concern and provide sufficient repair/rehabilitation methodologies for this project. A review of the existing drainage infrastructure is required. The Service Provider shall include in this assignment the drainage and hydrology data collection required to complete the design of the highway drainage system and include any remediation design required to address any drainage concerns identified during the field review and in consultation with Ministry maintenance staff. Best management practices shall be incorporated in the design. The Service Provider shall also conduct field reviews within the project limits with MTO and City of Kitchener's Regional Maintenance Staff and document/address any concerns regarding existing drainage and hydrology requirements. Prior to implementation of any Maintenance staff recommendations, the Ministry's Project Manager must be notified in writing. The drainage and hydrology design will be done in conformity to Ministry accepted standards. The Service Provider is expected to check the adequacy of the existing culverts and design the drainage channel to prevent further erosion of the Walter Bean Trail. The New Highway 7 drainage design studies and the reference documents of project completed for Shirley Ave under contract. 2016-3009 including the Contract Drawings, Quantity sheets, Tender document and As-Built data for reference to prepare Drainage design for the repair of the Walter Bean Trail. The Service Provider is to make appropriate improvements considering the area of concern to improve the serviceability life of the Walter Bean Trail.
