Grandstand Erosion Repair at Pascack Hills High School In addition, and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25, each bid must be accompanied by a certificate from a surety company stating it will provide said bidder with a bond in such sum as required by the above referenced statute. All bidders must use and complete all bid forms and must comply with every requirement contained in the instructions and specifications. Prospective bidders are advised that this Project is one which will be subject and will be governed by provisions of New Jersey State Law governing (a) Prequalification's of Bidders N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-26 et seq., additionally each Bidder and his Prime Subcontractor(s) (if applicable) shall be prequalified with the NJ Schools Development Authority in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:7G-33, (b) Prevailing Wage RatescN.J.S.A. 34:11-56.27, ( c ) Use of Domestic Materials, N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-20 including any amendments and supplements thereto, and (d) P.L. 1977, Chapter 33, (N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2) listing corporate / partnership names and addresses for individuals with a share of 10% or more. "The Public Works Contractor Registration Act" became effective on April 11, 2000. A copy of the certificate must be included in the bid package for the bidder and any subcontractors. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 all business organizations that do business with a local contracting agency are required to be registered with the State and provide proof of their Registration with the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue before the contracting agency may enter into a contract with the business. All bidders shall adhere to the information classified as "New Jersey Business Registration Requirements". Further information may be obtained by calling the School Business Administrator, Yas Usami, at 201-358-7009. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check, bank cashiers check, treasurers check or Bid Bond in the form provided in the Contract Documents, with corporate surety satisfactory to the Owner, in an amount not less than 10% of the Base Bid. DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. Extent of storm sewage systems work is indicated on Drawings and schedules, and by requirements of this section. B. Contractor shall clean debris, soil, sediment and foreign materials from all inlets and manholes within the scope of the construction areas and flush connecting sewer pipes and manholes clean. Also refer to site clearing specification. Dispose of waste materials in a legal manner off-site. C. Contractor shall repair/reconstruct existing structures receiving new pipe connections to a like new structural condition. D. The contractor shall maintain on-site drainage at all times. To accomplish this, temporary bypass piping, pumping or other means may be needed to properly convey runoff around construction areas. The site shall not be allowed to flood. Any soils damaged by storm water flooding open excavations shall be completely removed to the satisfaction of the engineer and replaced with controlled compacted fill to its original depth at no additional cost. E. Contractor shall restore all lawn areas affected by the work per applicable plan details and nostes. All areas shall be restored in-kind to a like new condition. F. The contractor shall verify the activity of all storm sewers, roof drains, floor drains and other pipes encountered during excavation work, that are uncovered during earthwork, or found during other utility work. Also refer to pre-demolition work utility location requirements. Reconnect active storm sewers and field drains to the new storm sewer system. G. The contractor shall perform flow & dye tests to determine the source of any underground sewer pipes that are not currently mapped and provide this information to the engineer for direction on how to re-connect, divert or abandon. Include at least 2 flow & dye test operations in base bid, sufficient to identify the pipe routing. H. Existing Utilities: Contractor shall be responsible for locating all existing utilities before commencing with any demolition work or new construction. Some underground pipe locations, sizes & materials on drawings were obtained from existing mapping and field observation, and should not be considered accurate when indicated approximate based upon record drawings , VIF (verify in field), or similar vernacular. If unmapped or incorrectly mapped utilities are encountered which will obstruct new construction, or affect new construction, then the contractor shall immediately contact the Engineer for direction. I. Provide all required pipe and pipe fittings to reconnect existing building roof drainage system into the new drainage system. Verify all pipe locations in the field and adjust to suit site condtions.
