Site work and new construction of a pre-engineered storage facility in Fremont, Ohio. Completed plans call for the construction of a pre-engineered storage facility; and for site work for a pre-engineered storage facility.
The Board of Control of the City of Fremont, Ohio, will receive qualifications for the Fremont Reclamation Center- Solids Handling Building. The City of Fremont isrequesting Qualification Statements(RFQ) in the form of a Letter of Interest (LoI) from Design-Build contractors (DBC) for assistance in constructing a Solids Handling Building at the Fremont Water Reclamation Center (WRC). The proposed site is approximately 190'x 190' with some rolling terrain overtop of rubblized concrete. A rough site topographical survey is attached to this RFQ. The City intends to apply for a grant from the State of Ohio to help cover the cost of this project. This project will be administered and managed by the City of Fremont. The City intends to retain a design build contractor to perform planning, surveying, design, permitting, engineering, cost estimating, and other services to plan, design, permit and construct the new Solids Handling Building. The project will include design and construction of a building capable of retaining 2100 wet ton of biosolids generated from the WRC processes. Building requirements and preferences include: - Building shall be designed to stockpile approximately 1500 CY of biosolid materials. Materials have similar properties to top soil. City estimates required size to be 10000SF (DB to confirm). - Building shall be constructed in a way to prevent wildlife from entering the structure. - Building shall be constructed in a way to protect biosolids stockpiles from the elements (climate control not required) - Options shall be provided for natural ventilation or mechanical ventilation. - Several 110V electrical outlets shall be placed through the facility. These must be robust enough to survive an industrial environment. - Facility shall be lit adequately to provide for safe working conditions. - A loading area for trailers up to 53 feet in length, preferably with forward motion only. - Large enough to safely operate a front end loader for placement of biosolids/loading of trucks. - Two yard hydrants placed at opposite ends of the structure to be used for cleaning purposes - Cleanable; must be able to be sprayed out using pressure washer, draining to the pond south of the site. DBC shall provide: - Prepare conceptual and design plans, calculations, permits, cost estimates, and other items necessary to complete the project. - Provide value engineering and cost savings solutions. - Attend and/or conduct meetings as needed for design, permitting and construction. - Provide submittals for approval. - Assist the City with various other tasks as necessary to complete the project. Each bidder will seal bid(s), containing full name of each person or company interested in an envelope clearly marked Solids Handling Building- Qualifications. Start Construction September 23, 2024 ; Completion date for project is January 1st 2025.
