FAC Switchgear Replacement - In the Frisco Athletic Center's pump room, there are three (3) sections of Eaton Cutler-Hammer switchgear that are corroding away. The existing gear is housed in a chlorine rich environment which has significantly reduced the lifecycle of the equipment making it hazardous. The three (3) sections include: a 400Amp 480V main section, 75kVA XFMR, and a 250A 208V panel with associated breakers which mainly supply the pool & pump equipment. A recent study done on the building found that the gear should be replaced to prevent substantial damages. It is the City of Frisco's intent to replace these sections of switchgear with new Eaton Cutler-Hammer, or approved equivalent, gear and to have these new gear sections reconnected and operating as intended for our Athletic Center located at 5828 Nancy Jane Lane. 3 sections of switchgear. Included in this replacement will be 3 sections of Eaton IFS switchgear with like-for-like gear ensuring the new footprint matches the existing footprint. All wiring will be replaced as needed and the reconnection of existing associated loads coming from these breakers is required. Additionally proposals must provide any breakers & fuses needed and labeled on the circuit directory. We are also requiring that the new gear has arc flash labels included in accordance with the NEC requirement. Vendors are welcome to quote any added protection that would prolong the life of the gear in its current environment pending it still meets the existing size footprint and functionality of the equipment.
