Site work and paving for a road / highway in Apopka, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

CONTRACTNO. : Y23-706-CC, Y20-828-EB Lake Apopka Trail Connector - The project consists of the construction of a 10' to 14' wide asphalt pavement/concrete shared use path with a boardwalk section between Magnolia Park on Binion Road to the new Wynwood Subdivision on McCormick Road for a total distance of 3.230 miles. This includes 4,899 feet of concrete sidewalk, 11,963 feet of asphalt trail with ribbon curb, and 100 feet of boardwalk. The trail will also include pedestrian/bicycle picket railing, Type B fencing, signing and markings, sod, and other landscape improvements. There will also be two rest areas provided with this project. Other improvements associated with this project consist of but are not limited to: o Curb and gutter reconstruction along Ocoee Apopka Road. o Construct sidewalk and curb ramps with detectable warning surfaces. o Milling and resurfacing of SR 429 entrance and exit ramps. o Remove, replace, or modify existing drainage inlets. o Placement of new inlets and storm pipes. o Removal of existing pedestrian signal poles. o Install new pedestrian signals and detectors and conduit. o Placement of signage and pavement markings. o Construct gravity wall. o Install new fences and fence gates. o Install new rest area amenities. o Removal of existing concrete. o Removal of existing fences. o Placement of erosion control measures. Site preparation work includes erosion control, clearing and grubbing, tree removal, excavation, and embankment. All pedestrian features are to adhere to current ADA standards. Utility coordination is required. Orange County shall construct the project within the limits of existing right of way and trail easements. Background Orange County exercises the rights and privileges conveyed to it by the State of Florida, and the Orange County Charter. It presently operates with an elected chief executive officer, Orange County Mayor, and six elected district commissioners, who together comprise the Board of County Commissioners. The Estimated Cost for this project is $7,449,065.96.
