Site work for a mixed-use development in Gainesville, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a power facility; and water / sewer project.
DEADLINE FOR QUESTIONS: February 1, 2024 Scope of Work Contractors are being hired to install two basic piping systems: CTMW and PWW. CTMW is the piping system that will move water from the DH Cooling Tower Makeup Water (CTMW) Tank to the DHR Raw Water Tank. PWW is the system that moves waste water between DH and DHR; primary purpose is to move water from the DHR Waste Water Tank to the DH Ponds and secondarily to move water from the ponds back to the DHR Waste Water Tank. Both systems utilize HDPE DR 17 piping and most of the underground piping has already been run with 10" HDPE DR17 piping (some piping will be used as sleeves). The HDPE contractor will run the remaining 10" CTMW piping and the 6" PWW piping which will require fusing two sections of piping. The CONTRACTOR will provide certification of each weld. DH and DHR are located next to each other and GRU has identified a strategy for three water sharing capabilities that will lead to a reduction of groundwater from the wells, a reduction of overall water usage across the sites, reduction of production costs, reliability of our systems, and decrease of landfill solid waste: This project will connect DH and DHR by installing 10" HDPE piping and 6" HDPE piping between the two sites. Background GRU's Deerhaven Generating Station (DH) is a zero-liquid-discharge (ZLD) facility in which no wastewater is discharged to the environment. DH has a pond system that allows for surge capacity and a makeup water treatment system that produces high quality makeup water to the cooling towers. In November 2017, GRU purchased Deerhaven Renewable Generating Station (DHR). DHR is an electric generating station using biomass to generate up to 100 megawatts of power and is located next to DH. DHR uses approximately 1.1 million gallons of water per day as cooling water for the steam turbine condenser and auxiliary equipment. Question Submission Deadline: February 1, 2024, 2:00pm A Bid Bond is required. Responses must be accompanied by a Bid Bond using the Bid Bond form provided and made payable to the City of Gainesville, d/b/a Gainesville Regional Utilities, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the price submitted. The Bid Bond amount will be paid to GRU if the successful Respondent fails to execute a Contract with GRU or accepts the receipt of the purchase order within fifteen (15) calendar days after award notice. GRU reserves the right to reject any and all Responses, or any part thereof, to waive any and all informalities or irregularities, and the right to disregard all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced or conditional Responses. A responsible Respondent and any selected subcontractors, suppliers, other persons, and/or organizations proposed to perform or furnish the Work have the capacity in all respects to fully perform the Contract requirements and the experience, integrity, reliability, capacity, facilities, equipment, and credit to ensure good faith performance, such capacity and responsibility to be determined solely by GRU. GRU may conduct such investigation as GRU deems necessary to establish the responsibility, qualifications and financial ability of Respondent(s), proposed subcontractors, material suppliers, individuals, or entities to perform the Work in accordance with the Contract. Such information may include, but shall not be limited to, current financial statements, bank records, verifications of availability of equipment and personnel and past performance records. Question Submission Deadline has been changed to February 2, 2024 @ 2:00 p.m.
