A. Scope of Work The successful bidder shall provide various types of turf grass sod to the SAPA Member. B. Bid Term This will be a one-year contract with the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year terms. C. Pricing SAPA Members are tax exempt. Prices offered shall be firm against any increase for a period of one year. Prior to the commencement of subsequent renewal periods, it shall be the successful bidder's responsibility to send written notification thirty (30) days in advance of any requested price changes. SAPA reserves the right to grant or deny the request for a price increase. D. Thickness of Cut Turf grass sod shall be machine cut at uniform soil thickness of 0.6 inches (15 mm), plus or minus 0.25 inches (6 mm), at the time of the cutting. Measurement for thickness shall exclude top growth and thatch. E. Pad Size Individual pieces of turf grass sod shall be cut to the supplier's standard width and length. Maximum allowable deviation from standard widths and lengths shall be plus or minus 0.5 inches (15 mm) on width and plus or minus five percent (5%) on length. Broken pads or torn or uneven ends will not be acceptable. F. Strength of Turf Sod Sections Standard size sections of turf grass sod shall be well-rooted and strong enough that they can be picked up and handled without damage. G. Moisture Content Turf grass sod shall not be harvested when its moisture content (excessively dry or wet) may adversely affect its survival. I. Diseases, Nematodes, and Insects Turf grass sod shall be reasonably free of diseases, nematodes, and soil-borne insects. J. Weeds Turf grass sod shall be reasonably free of grassy and broadleaf weeds. K. Delivery and Off-Loading Unless otherwise specified, all materials shall be delivered to a site as designated by the SAPA Member. Turf grass sod shall be delivered to the site specified and off-loaded using equipment furnished by the turf grass sod supplier. Palletized or large-roll turf grass sod shall be off-loaded at the location(s) designated for this purpose at the installation site. Delivery terms shall be FOB destination, freight prepaid and allowed, unless sod is loaded and transported by the SAPA Member. L. Installation Equipment For large rolls requiring an installation machine, the bidder shall include a quote for rental of the machine on a per yard basis. The machine should be designed specifically for this purpose so as to avoid damage to the sod being laid. M. Availability All materials shall be available within three (3) working days of receipt of purchase order from the SAPA Member's location. N. Award It is preferable to SAPA to award the bid to a single bidder based on lowest bid total, but SAPA reserves the right to split the award among multiple bidders based on lowest unit pricing if it is determined to be in the best interest of SAPA. 0. Business License Requirements The successful bidder will be required to obtain a Business License from the SAPA Member's City to operate within the corporate limits.
