As of February 28, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. This project has a construction estimate of: under $4,100,000 The Alexander Housing Authority will receive sealed bids for Demolition of the Connell F. Smith Building and Site Renovations at Projects IL-7-4/Smith Building and IL-7-5/Shuemaker Building. Bidders will be required to follow all procurements polices set by HUD and the Alexander County Housing Authority, this shall include a Bid Guarantee. Set Aside(s) MBE (20%) Ed Kirchner of Eggemeyer Associates Architects opened the meeting introducing the PHA staff, HUD staff and the Consultants for the project. Ed stated that the bids are due by 2:00 p.m. on February 8, 2024, at the Public Housing Authority office, 1100 Halliday Ave, Cairo, Illinois. 62914. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Ed noted that due to the ER completion date, they are revising the days from 60 to 90 for the apparent low bid contractor to hold their bids. The change will be noted in an addendum, it will be issued on February 1, 2024. All questions or items need to be submitted by Deadline for questions - 1/31/24 at 2:00 pm , all substitution requests need to be submitted by 1/29/24.
