This project is for the construction of an arterial bridge to connect Poplar Way/196th ST SW and 33rd Ave West. The City Center Access Study identified this bridge as an alternative to the 196th Street SW crossing at I-5. It is the most significant solution for congestion relief in the City Center along 196th ST SW and around Alderwood Mall. The project is included in the city's fy 2024-2029 Capital Improvement Program. As of September 12, 2024, this project is in the design phase. A firm timeline for construction has not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
