As of July 22, 2024, an engineer has been selected for the project. This project is expected to be administrated by the Michigan Department of Transportation. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been disclosed, bid letting is not expected to start prior to April of 2025. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Tuscola County Road Commission seeks to hire a qualified, professional engineering team to provide survey & design services, any necessary environmental permitting, and preparation of plans, specifications, and preliminary estimates of cost for the HMA Overlay and Signage Updates for Fairgrove Road from Fairgrove Village Limits to M-24 (3.51 miles of 1.5" HMA overlay). The TCRC expects consultants proposing on this project to have the qualifications, experience, personnel, and overall understanding of the work. The consultant shall have the following MDOT Prequalification - Design Roadway. The Tuscola County Road Commission has Fairgrove Road - Fairgrove Village Limits to M-24 HMA Resurfacing project on the 2025 Rural Task Force 7A Federal and State Program. The Federal STP is listed at $433,836 with a local contribution of 108,459, for a total project estimate of $542,295. See the attached 1799 form for more information. Award will be made in the best interest of the Road Commission. Payment will be made by monthly invoicing.
