Shiawassee Armory - Modifications 675 W. Corunna Ave. Corunna, MI 48817 File No. 511/22361.CAK The existing Michigan National Guard Shiawassee Armory requires facility modernization and expansion of their motor pool parking lot. The existing building was built in the early 2000s however in the last two decades the Michigan National Guard has increased its female personnel and requires the expansion of their showers, lockers and bathrooms. To accommodate the latrine update the existing latrine will be demolished for both male and female and a new modern latrine will be provided within that area of the existing one. Proposed new 14 showers, 6 toilets. 6 lavs and 2 urinals will expand into the existing locker rooms and those rooms will be reconfigured to accommodate this work. Along with the latrine work a new lactation room will be provided adjacent to the latrines and a small 100 sq./ft. the room will be built with the existing administration room to provide a new SIPR room for secure communication The exterior portion of the project will be to expand the existing motor pool parking with around 12,500 square feet of new paving. This will require new fencing, new site lighting and will increase stormwater management. The other portion of the existing work will be addressing the small sinkhole in the front parking lot most likely due to erosion from a underground stormwater line, all per drawings and specifications dated 12-22-2023 Please do not submit online questions via SIGMA VSS.
