Alberta Forestry and Parks is responsible for wildfire suppression within the province of Alberta. Involved with this is the management of wildfire base facilities. These Fire Base facilities house wildland firefighters in order to provide wildfire suppression that is both efficient and fiscally responsible. The twenty-six (26) Primary and three (3) Secondary Fire Bases provide firefighting staff with meals and accommodations during Alberta's wildfire season, and are located throughout Alberta. The Province's Primary and Secondary Fire Base facilities require commercial catering and janitorial services at each facility. These Fire Base facilities provide meals and housing to the fire fighting resources tasked with wildfire operations within the province. Due to the dynamics of wildfire management, meal times and durations will need to be flexible. Proponent staff will need to be appropriately trained within their specific roles and aware of the unique and remote living locations of the Fire Bases. Services as required by the Province are fully outlined in "Appendix B" of this document. The sample menu provided in Schedule C, along with the section titled "Contractor Requirements-Meal Plan" in Appendix B describes what is required by the Province. The Proponent(s) must supply a sample menu to demonstrate their understanding of the deliverables of this Contract.
