Laundry Replace Water Heater and Water Softener Systems SUMMARY OF WORK a. Project Location: Work shall be performed under this Contract on the UI Research (Oakdale) campus of the University of Iowa at Laundry Building in Coralville, Iowa. b. The Constructor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment necessary for, and incidental to, construction of this project as indicated on Drawings dated January 15, 2024. c. Work shall include everything requisite and necessary to finish work properly, notwithstanding that not every item of labor or materials or accessories required to make project complete may be specifically mentioned. d. General Description of Work: 1) Project consists of automation of the existing steam-to-hot water heat exchanger system; replacement of the existing direct fired water heater with a new single, natural gas-fired water heater; replacement of the existing water softeners with duplex water softener utilizing a wall opening and phased construction; and replacement of the existing brine day tank with a new brine day tank. 2) Alternates: None. 3) Allowances: None. 4) Unit Prices: None. Targeted Small Business (TSB): The certified Iowa TSB participation goal for this project is 10 percent (10%) of the Base Bid. This establishes the amount that should be reported on the Final Payment Reporting Form as part of the TSB Program Question Deadline 02/06/2024
