Charlotte Douglas International Airport is establishing a PCC Slab Replacement Program. This program will include the rehabilitation and replacement of various airfield PCC pavement slabs that will be identified by the Owner. The intent of this solicitation is to select a company to provide rehabilitation and replacements utilizing selected construction materials for specific projects at various locations on Airport property on an as needed, Task Order basis during the duration of the scheduled contract. The Scope of Services requires the contractor to furnish all supervision, labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and services, and perform and complete all work in an efficient and workmanlike manner necessary to complete construction of the PCC Slab Replacement Program. The term of the contract will be for three (3) years from the effective date. A for-profit small business concern: (a) that is at least fifty-one (51%) percent owned by one or more individuals who are both socially and economically disadvantaged or, in the case of a corporation, in which fifty-one (51%) percent of the stock is owned by one or more such individuals. Small Business Enterprise (SBE) means a business which (a) is at least fifty-one percent (51%) owned by one or more persons (b) the owner has a personal. Contractor shall be obligated to pay Owner, in the following amounts. $500 per Calendar Day for failure to achieve substantial completion with the contract time $150 per minute for the first fifteen (15) minutes for failing to re-open the runway by 5:30A and $250 per minute for each additional minute there after $75 per minute for the first fifteen (15) minutes for failing to re-open a taxiway by 5:30AM and $125 per minute for each additional thereafter. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid security in the form of, at Bidders option, cashiers check, certified check, money order or bid bond (in favor of the Owner) in the amount of 5% of the Base Bid amount pledging that the Bidder will after notice of award.
