Project entails the replacement of roof structures on three small buildings that were damaged by fire. Scope of work includes removal of the existing roof structures, installation of new City-supplied roof trusses, installation of new roofing materials and trim, and related work items. Furnish and install roofing systems for three buildings at the West End Little League facility at Hellane Park Furnish and install the following items as needed to complete the project as shown herein: Specifications: Furnish and install the following items as needed to complete the project as shown herein: Remove and properly dispose of existing, fire-damaged roof structures including existing trusses and/or rafters, fascia, drip edge, etc.. Install new City-supplied roof trusses Furnish and install 3/4" CDX plywood sheathing Furnish and install 30 lb. roofing felt Furnish and install ice and water barrier Furnish and install drip edge/gutter apron Furnish and install laminated composite shingles with a minimum of a 25-year warranty. Furnish and install new fascia boards, metal fascia, and metal soffit Furnish and install new 6" gutter and downspout Furnish and install ten 4' LED 2-tube light fixtures with lens Furnish and install new 10' x 7' overhead door & hardware Perform soda blasting of smoke damaged block and other material, and seal block with masonry sealer Paint exterior walls (2 coats) in areas where fire damaged the paint Furnish and install 6' high chain link fence Perform general cleanup of site A list of approximate material quantities is attached; bidders shall be responsible for verifying these quantities prior to submitting their bids. Payment will be made in full upon acceptance by the City of the roofing, and meeting the project schedule as detailed below. 2. Alternate Bid #1: Replace shingle roof system in Base Bid with metal roof system Specifications: Furnish and install 26 gauge galvalume roofing panels, ridge cap, trim, and appurtenances, over the plywood sheathing, roofing felt, and ice and water barrier. The Lump Sum price for Alternate Bid #1 shall be presented as the difference in cost (higher or lower) compared to the Base Bid price. Schedule: Once the contract is awarded (likely on February 27th) and executed by both parties, installation may begin. Time is of the essence, as baseball activities at the facility begin in early April. All work shall be completed by no later than April 5, 2024. Liquidated damages of $300 per calendar day will be assessed and deducted from final payment for each calendar day beyond April 5, 2024 that the base bid work remains incomplete. Warranty: Provide a one-year workmanship warranty from date of acceptance by the City. All work shall be done in a workmanlike manner, in compliance with industry standards and guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of written acceptance by the City of Hagerstown. Contractor will correct any and all defects during that warranty period at no cost to the City. Insurance: The contractor shall provide Insurances per the attached "Insurance Requirements for Independent Contractors". No bid surety is required. No performance bond will be required; the City will pay the selected contractor in full upon the satisfactory completion of all work as determined by the City. The City of Hagerstown Engineering Department is the sole entity authorized to provide this RFP package to interested companies or individuals. Firms who are working from an RFP package obtained from any other source may have an incomplete set of documents. The City assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, or misinterpretation resulting from a company's use of an incomplete RFP package. Firms who have received the RFP package from a source other than the City Engineering Department are advised to contact the office to provide their company name, mailing address, telephone number, contact name and contact e-mail address. This will ensure that the company receives all RFP related communications and documents, including addenda. There may be one or more addendums to this solicitation. If your company desires to receive copies or notices of any such amendments, you must provide the information to the City of Hagerstown. E-mailed addendum will be sent in a PDF format. The City of Hagerstown reserves the right to reject or accept any or all proposals submitted, either in whole or in part for any reason within its absolute discretion.
