New construction of a warehouse / distribution facility in Welland, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 1,040-square-foot, one-story above grade warehouse / distribution facility.
The City of Welland on behalf of Welland Fire & Emergency Services is seeking the construction of a pavilion style roof structure that spans a space of approximately 15' between two shipping containers and runs the length of these containers of approximately 40'. The trusses are currently on site and an engineer has provided a design. The completed project will have a simple roof, with metal roofing materials, constructed between two shipping containers. The underside will remain as open trusses. The contractor will provide the structural supports, bracing, lumber, strapping, roof sheathing, and other necessary materials. The work will be completed in a safe manner, complying with the OHSA, and appropriate Regulations to the satisfaction of the Fire Chief. Workers are required to show proof of safety training, and certification for working from heights. A site safety plan will be provided to the Fire Chief and the proponent will strictly comply to these safety practices. The City currently has the trusses, and shipping containers on site and will take responsibility for arranging the containers into their final position, as determined on site, after the below grade structural support work has been completed.
