**As of April 11, 2024, project was awarded to Palmetto Corp., in the amount of $46,458,540.66.** Richland County is accepting electronic bids for the widening of Atlas Road (S-50) to a five-lane with a 4-foot bike lane, curb and gutter, and 5-foot sidewalk on both sides of the roadway from Shop Road to Garners Ferry Road. Shop Road, Veterans Road and Garners Ferry Road Intersections are also being improved with the addition of turn lanes. A new storm drainage system is proposed along both sides of Atlas Road with various closed-system crossings. Atlas Rd (S-50) is under the jurisdiction of the SCDOT. Atlas Rd. is within the City of Columbia limits from Shop Rd. to Garners Ferry Rd. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, and incidentals required and install casing pipe and carrier pipe by jacking at the locations shown on the Drawings and as specified herein. B. Work shall be done in strict accordance with the details shown on the Drawings and as specified herein and in accordance with all South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) requirements and other applicable permit requirements. C. The work shall include, but not be limited to, the f ollowing: steel casing pipe, excavation within casing, contact grouting of annular space outside of casing, carrier pipe, casing spacers, casing seals, fillin g annular void between casing and carrier pipe, coating s, location markers, vents and miscellaneous appurtenances as required to complete the installation. D. Furnish special insurance, traffic control, flaggers, and any other requirements imposed by all permitting agencies. The Atlas Road (S-50) Widening Project scope includes the construction of 5-lane roadway with 4-12' travel lanes separated by a 15' median from Shop Road (SC 768) to Garners Ferry Road (US 76), including a 4-foot bike lane and 5-foot concrete sidewalks in each direction. In addition, the project includes the construction of curb and gutter, closed drainage installation, hot mix asphalt paving, culvert construction, demolition, grading, earthwork, signing, pavement markings, traffic control, signal installation and erosion control activities. A. Work shall include all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to construct all of the work in a crafts-man-like manner. B. The project shall be substantially complete within one thousand and ninety-five (1,095) days from the receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
