Demolition and site work for a residential development in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The work generally consists of the demolition of a two (2) story residential dwelling located at 1009 3rd Street, McKees Rocks, PA. Also included are pest control, erosion control, asbestos abatement, utility termination and site restoration. Estimated Cost: $24,000 Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, in the form of a Certified Check or Corporate Surety Bid Bond, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid Proposal made in the favor of the Borough of McKees Rocks. A Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Maintenance Bond in the amounts specified within the Contract Documents will be required of the successful Bidder. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the Provisions of the Public Works Employment Verification Act (PWEVA). No Bid or any part thereof shall be withdrawn by Bidder for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the Bid Opening. The right is reserved by the Owner to reject any or all Bids or parts of bids and to waive technical defects in any Bid. A. Provide labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and services and perform all operations required for completion of work on this Contract, as specified in the Contract Documents. B. Unless otherwise specified, all work shall be performed in accordance with generally accepted standards of demolition methods and by these Specifications. Standards and other publications referenced in these Specifications shall be of the issues in effect at the time of bidding and shall form a part of this Contract unless otherwise noted. C. Without limiting or restricting the volume of work, the work to be performed shall, in general, comprise the following: 1. Mobilization and traffic control. 2. Asbestos abatement, when required. 3. Pest control/removal. 4. Termination of all utilities (gas, water, electric, sewers, etc.). The Contractor is responsible for physical disconnection of water and sewer as shown on attached Details. The Contractor will be responsible for coordinating all utility disconnections with the utility owners. All costs incurred from this work shall be paid for by the Contractor. 5. Clearing access to the structure for demolition. 6. Temporary erosion and sedimentation control. 7. Protection of public and private property from damage caused by demolition activities. 8. Securing the work site during construction. 9. Disposal of all materials at an approved facility. 10. Demolition of primary structures and accessory structures (attached structures, attached or detached garages, sheds, etc.). 11. The removal of all below grade walls to 1-1/2 feet below grade and the break-up of basement floor slabs. 12. Furnishing, backfilling, and compacting clean fill material. 13. Clearing and grubbing of site and removal of all vegetation (other than grass) including all trees smaller than 8 inch trunk diameter, unless otherwise noted. 14.
