Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Danville, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The bridge needs replaced due to condition prior to being load rated and reducing the carrying capacity of the structure. Bridge may have reduced carrying capacity in the near future and is likely to be subject to weight restrictions. Recent bridge condition report indicated that complete replacement is the best long term option for this structure. As of January 22, 2024, this project is included in the city’s 2024-2027 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Planning/Design expected 5/1/2026-4/1/2027. Construction expected 11/1/2027-11/1/2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
