Site work and paving for a civil project in Norfolk, Nebraska. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.

The project is referred to as "Norfolk Crush Area Paving,C-59(812)" and includes approximately1.5 miles of grading and 9" doweled concrete pavement on bituminous base course. The project site is located on North 1st Street from Northeast Industrial Highway to approximately600 feet north of Nucor Road, on Nucor Road from North 1st Street to approximately 0.5 miles east of North1st Street, and widening of Northeast Industrial Highway beginning approximately 0.25 miles west of North1st Street and continuing east to approximately 0.15 miles east of North1st Street, all in Madison County, Nebraska. This project shall include all labor, materials, transportation and equipment required for the construction of cold milling class IV ,grading, culvert pipe construction, subgrade preparation, 4" bituminous base course, 9" doweled concrete pavement, pavement markings and other related incidental work. Along with its Bid Proposal, each bidder shall submit an unconditional Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the Madison County Treasurer, Madison County, Nebraska,in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the total Bid Proposal. Also, each bidder is to provide a Start of Construction date and End of Construction date with its Bid Proposal. The desired completion date is July 31,2024. The successful bidder (i.e.Contractor) will be allowed one hundred (100) calendar days for completion after beginning work. Additional days due to weather may be granted at the discretion of the Engineer. Within ten (10) days following the award of the Contract, the successful bidder shall furnish a surety bond or bonds in an amount equal to or greater than the full amount of the contract. The surety and form of the bonds are subject to acceptance by the Madison County Board of Commissioners. Madison County, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Dept. of Transportation ,Subtitle A, Office of Secretary, Part 21,Nondiscrimination in Federally assisted programs of the Dept. of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidden that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, sex ,age and disability/handicap inconsideration for award. The Madison County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any irregularities in bids received. Award of the Contract will be in accordance with the County Purchasing Act's competitive bidding considerations asset forth in Neb. Rev. Stat. 23-3110to 23-3114.
