Jackson; james.jackson2@fresno.gov, and may be submitted electronically by utilizing the Questions and Answers field on Planet Bids, or by contacting the City of Fresno Purchasing Division, at (559) 621-1332 A 100 percent Payment (Material and Labor) Bond for all public works contracts of $25,000 or more must be filed with the Contract Documents and approved by the City before the Contractor enters upon performance of the Work. The "Faithful Performance Bond" shall be for 100 percent of the Contract price to guarantee faithful performance of all work, within the time prescribed, in a manner satisfactory to the City, and that all materials and workmanship will be free from original or developed defects. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Explanation of Bid Items Pump Station 185 is located at 2283 E International Ave, Fresno, CA 93730. This is 20-inch outside diameter (OD) lined well and is 248 feet below ground surface (BGS) which reduces to a 12-inch inside diameter (ID) lined well from 248 feet to 380 feet BGS. Perforations are from 150 feet to 245 feet and 250 feet to 370 feet BGS. Static Water Level is approximately 182 feet BGS. All materials and parts shall be new. Pump Station 185 is a Public Water Supply Well and the sanitation and integrity of the materials, well, and site are strictly enforced. The unit price bid per unit measure of work shall include all costs of labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the furnishing and construction complete in place and operating in accordance with the Plans and Specifications for the City of Fresno for all work listed in the bid items. All work shall be done in conformance with the provisions in the Specifications and in conformance with the requirements in all permits related to or required for the work, and as directed by the Engineer. Explanation of Bid Items: Bid Item 1: Mobilization/Demobilization/Installation This item shall be bid lump sum and include full compensation for all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals needed for the complete installation of all parts and equipment including any required adjustment. This item shall also include securing the well from contamination and safety hazards and maintaining the integrity and cleanliness of the site. The well and site shall be secured and locked daily. The cost of this item shall also include demobilization. The Contractor shall remove all trash, grease, rust-preventative compounds, or other contaminants from the interior and exterior of the well, pedestal, and site. At no time will the contractor's equipment be allowed to leak gas, oil, or other contaminating products anywhere on the site. Bid Item 2: New Vertical Turbine Pump This item shall be bid lump sum. The vertical turbine pump assembly shall be manufactured by Floway Pump Co., National Pump Co., Flowserve, Peerless Pump, Peabody, Grundfos Pumps, Goulds Pumps, Fairbanks Morse, or Verti-Line Pumps. The pump assembly shall be rated at 500 Gallons per Minute at 225 of feet Total Dynamic Head, at 1800 RPM. Bowl Efficiency greater than or equal to 82.5% (enclosed impellers only). The design point shall not be left of best point of efficiency and shall not be more than 1% to the right of the center point of best efficiency. Bowl diameter shall not be more than 9 inches. Suction and discharge sides of pump assembly shall be sized to 8 inches, to accommodate both suction assembly and column pipe assembly. The bidder shall submit the bowl curve of the pump at the time of the bid. Bid Item 3: Certified Laboratory Pump Test This item shall be bid lump sum and include all costs involved in the complete performance of a certified laboratory pump test. The test shall be conducted by the manufacturer and witnessed by a Professional Engineer with its seal attached to the documentation. The Pump Test shall be performed using all recommended standards as developed by and in the Hydraulic Institute, American National Standard for Vertical Pump Tests: ANSI/HI 14.6-2016.
