The project scope of work includes demolition and removal of the existing light-weight concrete roof substrate and existing built-up roofing materials to expose existing corrugated metal roof deck and then reconstruct the roof system with new. The new roof work shall include furnishing of all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to install a new roof over the Lake Park Library building. Roofing to include new insulation board, 4-plys of roofing membrane, new flashings, trims and caps as necessary to provide a complete and watertight roof envelope. The library is an important and vibrant resource available to the residents of and visitors to the Town of Lake Park. The library is a small municipal building that serves the community through traditional resources and innovative projects and programs. Resources include literacy, books, research materials, art, culture and technology for children, teen and adult programs. A new roof will provide preservation and longevity to a valuable town asset. With this Invitation to Bid (ITB), the Town is looking to secure a qualified and experienced roofing contractor to replace the existing roof with new. Through this ITB, the Town will competitively solicit bid proposals for the replacement of the Lake Park Library roof consistent with the Town's procurement policy. For bid proposal pricing exceeding one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) a Bid Bond in a sum not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the Town of Lake Park, shall accompany each Bid as a guarantee that the bidder will not withdraw from the competition after the opening of Bids The Town of Lake Park reserves the right to reject any or all Bids in whole or in part, with or without cause, to waive irregularities, variances, deviations, technical errors and informalities to the extent permitted by law, or to accept the Bid which in its judgment best serves the public interest. Event Pre-bid description: This meeting will provide a brief description of the project and the project scope and answer questions regarding the project and the ITB to facilitate a responsive and responsible response. Immediately following the preproposal conference meeting, interested firms will have an opportunity to inspect the project site and Town Hall building and familiarize themselves with the requirements in order to ensure all items affecting project costs are reviewed and considered.
